Scott Winton Insurance is the major sponsor for the Quill Club’s Annual Charity Luncheons. This year the Quill Club members raised $40,000 for charity Syndromes Without A Name.
One of the highlights of the day was the fundraising auction. An item up for auction was a basketball signed by Michael Jordan. Avi Tatarka, CEO of Scott Winton kept the bidding running and was the successful bidder at $3,400! Mr Tatarka gifted the prize back to SWAN.
A little bit about Syndromes Without A Name.
SWAN Australia supports families who have a child with an undiagnosed or rare genetic condition. SWAN aims to increase awareness and understanding of the impact and prevalence of undiagnosed genetic conditions within the wider community.
They provide information and emotional support to families to assist them with establishing enduring mutually supportive relationships. They want to limit the isolation and the negative social, emotional and financial impacts experienced by families.
They support and provide information to parents, carers and friends of people affected by an undiagnosed genetic condition or rare disease for which there is no support group. SWAN Australia was established to fill a void in the genetic support group sector. It is there aim to assist parents/carers on their unknown genetic journey and advocate for change with them.
